Garth Brooks tour dates announced!

Garth Brooks will kick-started his world tour in Chicago on September 4 – the first time the record-breaking singer has toured in 13 years. Brooks – who has sold nearly 128 million albums worldwide – walked away from touring in 2001, but will delight audiences when he plays a series of live shows with his wife, fellow country singer Trisha Yearwood, this fall. Tickets for the tour will be available soon.

The Garth Brooks 2015 tour is sure to set new records for ticket sales and attendance, as the singer will play his greatest hits in front of his adoring fans. Brooks recently finished a five year residency at the Encore Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, and signed a new contract with Sony Music Nashville in July. The singer is hoping to release a new album soon, and will release his music in a digital format.

Garth Brooks holds the record of being the biggest selling albums artist in the USA since the SoundScan era began in 1991, selling more records than even The Beatles during this period. He has sold a total of 190 million units worldwide, making him one of the world’s best selling artists, including 128 million albums. In the United States, he is the second biggest selling solo albums act in history, and the third overall, behind only Elvis Presley and The Beatles.

Brooks has garnered a legion of loyal fans in a long career that has seen him play to sell-out audiences around the world. He has released six albums that have achieved diamond status (for selling more than 10 million copies) in the United States, including Double Live which has sold a staggering 21 million copies. Other popular albums including Sevens, Ropin’ the Wind, No Fences and The Hits. Brooks has won 17 American Music Awards, 2 Grammys, and was awarded a special award by the RIAA for his album sales in the United States.

The new tour will begin in Chicago’s Allstate Arena – the first time Brooks has played the Chicago area for more than 17 years. Other dates on the tour have yet to be announced. Brooks is hoping to match the successes of his previous tours, including the record-breaking world tour which took place in 1998. The tour spawned Double Live – a collection of live songs that were recorded during the tour. Double Live broke the record for being the fastest-selling album of all time when it released, and has since been certified 21 times platinum by the RIAA, making it one of the biggest selling albums of all time.
